What is What's Going On?

What's Going On is London's largest events discovery platform. We aggregate publicly available event listings from over twenty independent sources across the capital — spanning live music, food markets, art exhibitions, comedy, theatre, nightlife, sports, community gatherings and more — and present them on a single interactive map so you can see what's happening near you at any time.

Our purpose

London has one of the world's richest cultural calendars, yet discovering what's on typically requires checking dozens of separate websites, applications and social media feeds. What's Going On was created to solve that fragmentation: one comprehensive, location-aware interface that surfaces everything happening in your area, regardless of where it was originally listed.

How it works

Our platform continuously collects event listings from a wide range of ticketing platforms, venue websites and community calendars. The system then automatically:

  • Matches events to verified London venues with accurate geographic coordinates
  • Categorises listings into intuitive groups such as music, food, arts, nightlife, sports and more
  • Identifies and removes duplicates where the same event appears across multiple sources
  • Consolidates multiple showtimes and ticket links into a single, unified listing
  • Refreshes data regularly to ensure listings remain current and reliable

Features

  • Interactive map — browse events plotted across all London boroughs, colour-coded by category
  • Advanced filtering — narrow results by category, subcategory, date range, price, borough, ward or venue type
  • Real-time discovery — find events that are happening right now or starting soon
  • Bookmarks and saved searches — save events, venues and filter combinations for quick access
  • Direct ticket links — click through to the original listing to purchase tickets at the source

Coverage

We cover all 32 London boroughs and the City of London. Our venue database encompasses pubs, bars, clubs, theatres, cinemas, galleries, community centres, parks, markets, arenas, stadiums and other event spaces. If a venue hosts public events within Greater London, our aim is to include it.

Free and independent

What's Going On is provided free of charge. We do not sell tickets, take commissions or accept payment from event organisers for preferential placement. All ticket links direct you to the original source. We operate independently and are not affiliated with any ticketing platform, promoter or venue group.

For venue owners and event organisers

We display publicly available event information for the purpose of helping audiences discover your events, and we always link back to the original listing. If you are a venue owner, event organiser or rights holder and would like to update, correct or remove a listing, image or any other content associated with your events, please contact us at hello@whatsgoingon.london and we will action your request promptly.
