The Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue in the City of Westminster opened on 21 February 1901 as the first theatre built in London during the Edwardian era. It was originally built for musical entertainment and debuted with the American musical comedy The Belle of Bohemia. The theatre is the only complete theatre design of architect Lewin Sharp and is a Grade II listed building.
It is a minute' walk from Piccadilly Circus tube station.
