The National Archives is the official archive and publisher for the UK Government, and for England and Wales. Visitors can use reading rooms to view original documents spanning over 1,000 years. A free exhibition, Revolution 250: America's Independence Story, covers 1763–1783 and features a rare 1776 printing of the US Declaration of Independence discovered at the institution.
