Horniman Gardens cover 16 acres and include a Meadow Field, originally constructed as a boating pond in the 1920s. The Gardens feature a Sound Garden with world instruments on a giant scale and a Wollemi pine tree, thought to be extinct until 1994. A 300m squared London Road Forest Border was created in 2021 to protect local wildlife.
