Music Room London was established in 1985 in a basement studio on Monson Road, New Cross Gate, before relocating in 1993 to the former New Cross Library, an Andrew Carnegie building. The venue operates five rehearsal studios and, following renovation work from 2019, a dedicated seating and performance area. The Old Library Bar serves craft beers, wines, ciders and soft drinks.
