Bethlem Museum of the Mind documents the history of Bethlem Royal Hospital, founded in 1247 as the first UK institution specialising in mental health care. The museum, formally opened by artist Grayson Perry in March 2015, records the lives and experiences of people with mental health problems and cares for an internationally renowned collection of archives, art and historic objects. It shares premises with the Bethlem Gallery.
