Apsley House, located at 149 Piccadilly, Hyde Park Corner, was originally built by Robert Adam and extensively remodelled in the 1820s for the Duke of Wellington. The interiors are displayed as they would have been in the 1830s, featuring 19th century paintings by Lawrence, Wilkie, Dawe, Lefèvre and Goya, porcelain from Meissen, Berlin and Sèvres, and silver by Storr and Smith. The collection includes Spanish paintings rescued from Joseph Bonaparte's baggage train at the Battle of Vitoria in June 1813.
